Shipping Information

Information regarding shipping

For both domestic and international delivery, we are fortunate to have long standing relationships with several respected carriers. The price of the book does not include a freight component and needs to be calculated separately. We understand that books are heavy items and to ensure that you pay a fair price for shipping, freight is calculated for each individual order. We do not ‘weight’ our delivery prices with additional charges.  We charge the customer what the carrier charges us.

By using our extensive knowledge of the international delivery networks, we will quote for the safest delivery method to your address. This may not always be the lowest priced delivery available. If you are not happy with the price quoted, please let us know and we will look again. Delivery with the lowest priced carrier may not always be the safest to your region.

Delivery times quoted by our sales team are only an estimate based on the information passed to us by the carriers and through experience. Deliveries may be held up pending customs inspection, industrial or civil action, or weather related events. If Haese Mathematics is advised by the carriers that disruption may occur or is occurring, we will inform you via email. Haese Mathematics is not responsible for shipping delays; it is out of our control and therefore we are not able to refund books based on a delivery delay alone. Delivery quoted is for door to door delivery.

Shipping within Australia

  1. Australia Post

There are three options available with Australia Post

    1. Red Bag

This service is for orders up to 5 kg in weight. Delivery to the main metropolitan areas normally takes 2-6 days. A tracking number can be given but tracking information is limited. We can add a delivery instruction to the parcel, but if you’re not at home for delivery, Australia Post may choose to leave the parcel in a safe place or may choose to take the parcel back to the depot. This service can be used for delivery to a PO Box or Locked Bag.

    2. Express Bag

This service is for orders up to 3 kg in weight. Delivery to the main metropolitan areas should take 1-2 days. A tracking number can be given but tracking information is limited. We can add a delivery instruction to the parcel, but if not at home for delivery, Australia Post may choose to leave the parcel in a safe place or may choose to take the parcel back to the depot. This service can be used for delivery to a PO Box or Locked Bag.

    3. Parcel Post

This service is for orders up to 20kg and is primarily used to destinations when courier rates are too expensive (rural and remote). Delivery may take up to 6 weeks to very remote places. An additional fee can be paid for tracking but the information provided is limited.

  2. Toll Road Express/Toll Parcel Service

Toll can be used for express deliveries to the majority of cities, towns and townships around Australia and does not have weight restrictions on their Road Express Service. They can assist with delivery to very remote areas of WA and NT. They provide a comprehensive tracking service. For customers who provide a mobile telephone number, you are able to schedule a delivery at a convenient time. Haese Mathematics give Toll ‘permission to leave’ if the customer is not home. Customer service will request information from you as to the best place to leave the parcel should the delivery address be unattended. If you do not wish to do this, a redelivery fee will be payable to Toll or you can choose to collect the package from the Toll warehouse.

  3. TNT Road Express

For some destinations around Australia, faster delivery is offered with TNT. They offer a similar solution to Toll. Customer service will quote TNT Road when appropriate to do so.

  4. AussieFast/MainFreight Domestic

These carriers specialise in shipping orders packed onto pallets (10 or more cartons) to the main metropolitan centres.

International Shipping (from Adelaide)

  1. Australia Post

Two options are available through Australia Post:

    1. Australia Post International Airmail

This service is not traceable and no tracking number will be issued. This service is generally safe to most countries for orders up to 20 kg (DHL may be cheaper for orders over 7 kg). If you opt to use this service, it is done so at your own risk, Haese Mathematics will not be held responsible for loss or damage to books sent this way; no refunds or replacements will be offered if the order is lost or damaged in transit. This information will be relayed to you during the ordering process. Delivery can take up to 14 business days. For certain countries, we will flag this as ‘not recommended’ although it may be the cheapest option available.

    2. Express Courier International

Also known as EMS in some countries, this a traceable service operated through Australia Post and the post office service in the destination country. A weight limit of 20 kg per carton applies to most destinations. A tracking number will be provided, but tracking information is limited. The tracking number can normally be used on the post office website of the destination country, particularly China, Germany, USA. Delivery can take up to 10 business days.

  2. DHL Global Express

DHL’s express service is the fastest delivery service we offer and we are not limited by weight. The service is fully traceable and a tracking number is provided. DHL can deliver to most countries within 2-6 business days.

  3. TNT

TNT offer a similar service to DHL, but have the ability to reach some destinations for a lower price than DHL. Our sales team will always quote the best price for delivery.

  4. Customs Agency Services/MainFreight International

These two companies are very experienced in dealing with large sized orders (over 150 kg) to most worldwide destinations. They can offer door to door and door to airport delivery if required.

Delivery from USA

  1. FedEx

From our warehouse in Chicago, we delivery countrywide and into Canada with FedEx. We are not limited by weight. Full comprehensive tracking is available through their website.

  2. USPS

For customers requiring delivery to a PO Box, government locked bag, or to some international destinations, we will use USPS. Please note that this service has only limited traceability and is used at your own risk.

Delivery from Germany

  1. UPS Standard

From our warehouse in Leverkusen, we deliver Europe wide with UPS Standard. We are not limited by weight and full tracking is available through their website.

  2. Deutsche Post

For customers with small orders, Deutsche Post is a cost effective solution. Limited tracking is available. This service can also be used to dispatch orders to the rest of the world.

  3. Customers Preferred Carrier (from all warehouses)

If you choose to ship your order using your own freight account, please be aware that you do so at your own risk. If you are able to supply us with your account name and number, we will arrange for a collection to be made as soon as the books are packed. Please note that delivery on your account is always sent EXW (incoterms 2015). Our responsibility for the order ends when your carrier collects the order from our warehouse. Your carrier must flag any potential issues with the order before it is signed over to them (damaged boxes etc.). Any claims for damage in transit must be made by you to your carrier directly. Haese Mathematics cannot assist with these disputes.

  4. International Freight Forwarding services (from all warehouses)

We are happy to arrange delivery to your designated forwarder and will complete any paperwork they require to assist with onward delivery to your final destination. We will contact the forwarder before the shipment is packed. At that point they must let us know their paperwork requirements. If they fail to give this information, we may be limited with the assistance we can later provide. Our responsibility for your order ends when the delivery is handed over to your forwarder. Your forwarder must flag any concerns with us within 24 hours of delivery. Any problems flagged when the consignment is delivered to the final destination are the responsibility of the forwarder. At that point, any claims for loss or damage in transit must be made to your forwarder.

  5. Customs duties and taxes

Some countries will levy an import tax or duty on imports over a certain value. If you allow us to arrange shipping, orders will be delivered under the incoterm DAP (Delivered at place – incoterms 2015). This means that we will pay the carrier for delivery to your door but customs fees or duties are payable by the receiver.

Duties and taxes are not included in the shipping price as they are calculated locally and charged in the local currency. The recipient is responsible for the payment of duties and taxes locally. If the recipient chooses not to pay duties and taxes, the books may be destroyed by the customs authority of the receiving country or returned to Australia. If the books are returned to us, and you ask for a refund, we reserve the right to recoup any fees charged back to us by the carrier or customs authority.

In order for customs to make an accurate assessment of your import, we will enclose a true and correct invoice with all goods. This will include the cost of the goods, the cost of freight, discount (if applicable), terms of delivery and the Harmonised Tariff Code which is recognisable by customs services worldwide. This information will also be completed on a customs declaration. We will not falsify invoices, send dummy or doctored invoices, remove details or make a false declaration under any circumstances. It is a criminal offence to make a false customs declaration and penalties are severe.

  6. Import Restrictions and required permits.

Haese Mathematics are aware that some countries require additional paperwork or import permits before goods can be imported. We will work with you to ensure you can still receive your books. If additional paperwork is required for your import, we will let you know the cost involved before any payment is made. If you are aware that you require an import permit, please let Haese Mathematics know during the ordering process.
